About Maryland Transportation Authority Police Force

The Maryland Transportation Authority Police, a nationally accredited force, is the seventh-largest law-enforcement agency in the State with more than 600 sworn and civilian law-enforcement professionals. The Transportation Authority Police are responsible for law enforcement and security at the Authority’s highways, tunnels and bridges, the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration and the Port of Baltimore.

Police Officer: Must be 21 prior to graduation from the Police Academy
Police Cadet: 18-20 Years of Age
Laterals: Must be MPCTC Certified

Police Officer Salary Range: $39,965 - $65,415

Police Cadet Starting Salary: $23,440

Lateral Officers: 6% above current pay up to $53,785
