About NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SOUTHEAST

Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southeast currently employs 1800 civilians and 92 military in seven states from Charleston, S.C. to Corpus Christi, Texas and south to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The volume of business for fiscal year 2009 is projected at $2.4 billion with an annual payroll of $110 million. The headquarters, in Jacksonville, Fla., supports activities in over 25 field offices within their area of responsibility. NAVFAC Southeast plans, designs and manages construction for the Navy and other governmental agencies. NAVFAC Southeast professionals also acquire and dispose of real estate, manage and maintain the facilities on all naval bases and provide housing for military families. NAVFAC Southeast Public Works Departments provide facilities support services to each installation in our area of responsibility. Every day presents new and different challenges for the professionals of the Command. From planning a new full-service hospital to the construction of a state-of-the-art hangar facility, members of the Command make significant contributions to the Navy.
