<P style="LINE-HEIGHT: normal; MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><span style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman', 'serif'; COLOR: #454442; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'">As a Fuel Facility Inspector, you will coordinate and conduct routine and special inspections and limited licensing activities for fuel facility licensees to observe and report as the status of safety and compliance with the provisions of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954 and the rules and regulations of the Commission. You will perform periodic inspections of assigned facilities in accordance with an inspection plan or other official documents. You will perform as a backup to the Resident Inspectors during periods of their absence; or other facilities where there is a resident inspection staff. You will prepare reports of inspections which contain a description of observations made and conclusions reached regarding conformance with NRC requirements, provisions of licenses and applicable industry codes and standards.<o:p></o:p></span></P>
<P style="LINE-HEIGHT: normal; MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><span style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman', 'serif'; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'"><br><strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">Qualifications</strong><br></span><span style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman', 'serif'; COLOR: #454442; FONT-SIZE: 12pt">In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience includes experience that demonstrates a thorough understanding of the principles, theories, and practices in the technical field with emphasis in chemical or nuclear engineering. Generally, this knowledge is met by having a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant technical discipline in addition to the specialized experience. <br><br>The ideal candidate for this position should have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:<br><br>(1) Knowledge of plant design, operations, maintenance and testing of a nuclear fuel fabrication facility, chemical processing or similar facility. (Describe your responsibilities that best illustrate your experience and describe the specific facilities where this experience was acquired.)<br><br>(2) Knowledge of the principles and theory related to hazards analysis, nuclear criticality, radiation, environmental, fire protection and/or chemical safety. (Describe your professional experience in the areas of hazards analysis, nuclear criticality, radiation, environmental, fire protection, and/or chemical safety. This experience may have been in performing safety assessments; evaluation to support double contingency; the design, implementation, inspection or testing of safety controls, the review of environmental impacts, etc.)<br><br>(3) Demonstrated experience in applying NRC regulations and industry standards to the operation of a nuclear facility. (Describe specific experience, training and accomplishments which demonstrate your application of NRC regulations and industry standards to nuclear facility operations, engineering, maintenance and/or plant support or experience in applying similar federal or state safety standards to nuclear facilities.)<br><br>(4) Demonstrated ability to evaluate activities and events, develop inspection findings, and evaluate the adequacy of corrective actions.
