Position Title: Numerical and Embedded Software Engineer

Position Number: 126111

Position Location: Raleigh, NC or Arlington, VA

Position Summary

 

Logos Technologies, Inc. seeks a software engineer with at least 5 years of experience in the implementation and optimization of numerical algorithms on multiple computing platforms including embedded systems.  Experience optimizing software for particular hardware environments, including processing and storage, is required.  Familiarity with multiple development environments, including Linux and Windows; C/C++ and Java; Intel, MIPS and PowerPC is desired.

 

Position specification

· Implementation of algorithms in domains including numerical optimization, image and signal processing, image and video compression, photogrammetry and computer graphics.

· Optimization of algorithms and implementations for particular hardware environments to maximize utilization of constrained computational, memory, memory bandwidth, and network, disk and bandwidth resources.

· Interaction with algorithm engineers and interpretation of algorithm descriptions and prototypes.

· Liaison between algorithm and software groups.

 

Position requirements


  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
· C/C++ and Java Development experience.


  • Intel-based Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Parallel/Pipelined processing: multi-core, multi-threading, and multi-processing.
 

Desired Qualifications


  • Image/Video processing software development.
  • Experience with Agile (Scrum) SW engineering processes.
  • Tilera MPPA development.
  • DSP-FPGA co-design.
 

Special considerations


  • Ability to acquire and retain a TS security clearance; current clearance preferred
  • Occasional travel
