For more information, visit www.saic.com. SAIC: From Science to Solutions® <br><br>Senior Radar Systems Engineer <br>This is a senior level position reporting to a product division general manager. This position requires expertise in millimeter wave radar system design, development and production, and specific support in the complex analysis of radar system performance. Design experience to include baseband amplifiers, transceivers antennas and overall systems integration. This analysis necessitates an understanding of radar functions, radar related algorithms and an ability to use analytical models to predict system and subsystem performance, to include transmit chain, receive chain, techniques, antenna systems, tracking loops, and methods of measuring performance of these functions. This position will support assessments of range system performance. <br>FUNCTIONS/DUTIES: Serves as a Principal Investigator and individual contributor to contract research, development, integration and sustainment projects. <br>1. Develop and apply advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and difficult system design requirements and problems. <br>2. Conduct investigations of considerable complexity. <br>3. Provide technical consultation to other organizations or customers. <br>4. Direct interface and liaison with internal and external customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews, and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications. <br>5. Plan, conduct, and technically direct projects or major phases of significant projects requiring the expert application of advanced knowledge. <br>6. Review completion and implementation of systems additions and/or enhancements and recommends corrections in technical application and analysis to management. <br>7. Represent the Company as technical advisor in high-level meetings and briefings with Company and customer personnel. <br>8. Prepare, deliver, and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies. <br>9. Support development of technical proposals and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work. <br>10. Act as and is recognized as a Company/industry expert resource on the most complex engineering problems. <br>11. Maintain technical project responsibility for assigned tasks and advise management of progress in support of the technical and administrative direction of project operations. <br>12. Conduct site visits and experimental investigations; analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations. <br>13. Develop, interpret, and implement technical and administrative operating policies and procedures. <br>14. Experience in FCC requirements and license applications. <br><br><br>REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Master of Science Degree in Engineering and 15 years of related engineering experience, or Doctorate Degree in Engineering with at least 12 years of related engineering experience. <br>Candidate must be able to obtain a DOD Secret security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship. An active Secret clearance is highly desired. <br><br>Demonstrate the ability to direct senior technical personnel in project assignments involving research, development, integration and sustainment of complex systems or processes. Demonstrate superior communications skills, both verbal and written, in day-to-day project activities as well as in briefing customers, writing reports and proposals. Mentor new engineers and technicians. Possess a working knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering modeling and simulation tools for radar systems.
