Senior Back End Developer

Description: MPRI / L3 Communications is looking for a Senior Backend Developer to help spearhead innovation on Army.mil.

Responsibilities:

- Work closely with small team of other developers

- Build OOP PHP code on top of the Code Igniter Framework

- Write optimized queries for MySQL database retrieval and input

- Document development practices and code.

- Support backend development for the following projects http://www.army.mil, http://my.amy.mil, and http://army.mil/core

- Perform minimum system admin of dev environment

Qualifications:

- 3+ years of experience as a Web developer using PHP or equivelent

- Creative thinker good at solving problems with code

- Experience using SQL queries

- OOP PHP Web programming

- 1+ year of XHTML & Javascript experience (jQuery a plus)

- Ability to document code clearly

- System Administration and Linux experience a plus

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, dealing with both technical and non-technical personal

- Comfortable developing in a Mac environment

- Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or similar/relevant field preferred
